The working principle of the drive axle is at the end of the power train, and its basic functions are:

①Transfer the engine torque from the universal transmission to the driving wheels through the main reduction tires, differentials, half shafts, etc., so as to reduce the speed and increase the torque;

②Change the direction of torque transmission through the bevel gear pair of the final drive;

③The differential effect of the wheels on both sides is realized through the differential to ensure that the inner and outer wheels turn at different speeds.

Drive axle is a mechanism at the end of the drive train that can change the speed and torque from the transmission and transmit them to the drive wheels. The drive axle is generally composed of a main reducer, a differential, a wheel transmission device and a drive axle housing, and the steering drive axle also has a constant velocity universal joint. In addition, the drive axle has to withstand the vertical force, longitudinal force and lateral force, as well as braking torque and reaction force acting between the road surface and the frame or body.
